EXHIBITION INFO FOR ARTISTS

EXHIBITING ARTIST HONORARIA Starting in Manifest's 20th season (as of fall 2023), every participating exhibitor is awarded a $50 honorarium. THE GRAND JURY AWARDS All exhibitors during each of nine exhibition periods across the season are automatically eligible to be considered for this award. Since Manifest's 13th season the annual Grand Jury Award has recognized one exhibited work each year with a significant jury-determined cash prize, representing the 'best of the best' shown in Manifest's many exhibits that year. In fall of 2023, to mark our transition into Manifest's 20th season as an arts organization by artists, for artists, we made a change. Starting at that time the Grand Jury Award format results in the awarding of $1,000 to one work during each of our nine exhibition periods. This expanded our support from one to up to nine artists each year, and allocated 80% more funding to recognize the merits of exhibited works.

Manifest is a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit founded and operated by artists for artists, and by professors and students for professors and students, now at the start of its third decade. Since its launch in 2004 Manifest's exhibits and publications have featured over 10,000 works by more than4,000 artists. Our organization has provided considerable support to working artists through all four aspects of its programming, and this continues to evolve every year. This is supported largely by individual donations small and large from across the country and beyond to our Annual Fund. |

ROOTS ROOTS is a call for works about family, heritage, ancestors—for art about siblings, parents, children, the homes we make, the bonds of care, about where we came from and where we might grow. |

TAPPED (side-by-side) 15th annual call for works by artists, and works by their current OR former teachers, showcasing the legacy of the academic process in art. — Not a call for collaborative works. TAPPED will exhibit paired works by each artist. |

15th Annual MANIFEST PRIZE An international competition and exhibit featuring one prize-winning jury selected work, including a $5,000 cash award. $1,000 in additional awards to finalists. *Application Fees discounted for early entry by September 1st. The Prize is open to works of ANY media, ANY genre/style, ANY size. The jury and judging process has no stylistic or media-based preference. Works submitted must have been completed within the past five years (2019-2024). |

About the Manifest Jury Process The Manifest jury process is conducted by a rotating peer group panel of volunteers who are artists, arts professionals, Manifest alumni, and previous award recipients from around the country. Panel makeup changes from exhibit to exhibit in order to promote diversity in the types of work shown in the gallery. The process is always conducted as a blind jury where only the work in question is judged, not individuals. LEARN MORE... |

Each season Manifest sends an opportunities poster like this one to over 400 academic institutions across the U.S. Our new Season 21 poster is linked for download at left. It includes all Manifest artist opportunities for the season through August 2025. This poster gets pinned on information boards, studio walls, art center info boards, and professors' office doors. It lists a full season of opportunities for professional, developing, academic, and student artists to participate in Manifest's peer-juried exhibits, publications, awards, and artist residency programs. If you are an instructor or administrator at an academic institution with an art program, and do not usually see our posters at your institution and would like one or more, please email us at info@manifestgallery.org with your name, school mailing address, and the name of the institution you represent. We'll add you to our list if your school is not already on it. Please also consider sharing the link to our poster by email and social media. Manifest is an organization by artists, for artists. We can only do what we do by virtue of good word of mouth and broad artist-involvement. |
Manifest is always looking for kindred creative spirits devoted to excellence in the visual arts for teaching opportunities in our educational studio curriculum. Our studios are a great landing spot for recent MFAs to hone their skill in the classroom for those who desire a future in education. |
