I used to drive past this boarded up, one-room school house on the way to see my wife when we were living apart for a year.  It became a landmark for me, not only for how far along I was on my journey, but there was something austere about it sitting there in the bleak winter landscape.  I wanted to capture that austerity as well as the experience of seeing it from multiple distances as I did from my car.
