Over time the traditional subject matter of landscape has expanded to include both natural and man-made environments, better reflecting the world in which we live.
Using this expanded definition, my drawings document the installation of an environmental sculpture in Lacoste, France, created by North Carolina artist Patrick Dougherty.
The sculpture transforms the environment. These drawings document how the process of creation, not just the finished product, can have a lingering impact on the environment, the community, and the individual.
