Drawing is a form of thinking, and thinking is manifest in drawing.
For me, the act of making marks on a piece of paper is a form of thinking. Compositions build additively as individual marks accumulate over time. The paper passively records an abstracted representation of internal thought. As I respond to the evidence of my making, drawing and thinking operate in a continuous looping pattern. The use of repetition allows drawing to become a contemplative pursuit. Each "finished" work of art demonstrates a temporary conclusion to an ongoing process.
