I am a self-taught artist living in Louisville, Kentucky. Drawing and painting have always been a major part of my life. When I was 8 years old, I stumbled across a book of Albrecht Durer's paintings that simultaneously frightened and inspired me. That dichotomy still drives my approach to drawing today. I'm currently working towards my BFA at the University of Louisville. When I'm not painting, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two dogs and watching trains.
"Peacock" was made primarily with blue/black Sharpie markers and ball-point pen. I consider my process of drawing to be a medically precise accident. Animals, especially birds, have a dark secrecy that intrigues me.
