I am intrigued by the role man plays in his desire to control, define, recreate and to change his environment. I am fascinated by the life cycles of nature and the role humans have in this transformation. Plants echo the living conditions of man and nature. The fallen leaves with their scarification left by diseases, infestations and storm damage become a recorded history of their own existence and the subject matter for me to draw upon. My drawings capture the cycle of life, and rearrange the artifacts of nature into patterns; re-examining the beauty of nature.
