THE INPHA WILL RETURN

INPHA 9
9th International Photography Annual

An Award-winning Juried Publication of Works of Contemporary Photography & Photo-based Art

NOTICE:

Calls for submissions to the INPHA publication series is pausing while Manifest's team focuses on the work of preparing for and transitioning the organization into its new home over the next two years. Once complete, all of Manifest will be housed under one roof and the organization will become The Manifest Center for the Visual Arts, including a bookstore, print shop, reference library with reading room, studios dedicated to drawing, painting, printmaking, and darkroom photography, a residency program, and an expansive suite of new galleries.

The publication series will pick back up with INPHA 9 at that time.

Photographers and light-benders are strongly encouraged to consider submission to our ongoing thematic group shows, solo show process, and annual exhibits. Each season continues to plan and produce a retrospective Exhibition Annual publication that is a significant documentation of works shown in the gallery across the year. Learn more about the MEA here. Ongoing exhibit opportunities are updated regularly here.

Please keep Manifest Press's projects on your radar, and consider supporting our nonprofit organization's evolution by collecting and sharing our books. Instructors are encouraged to take advantage of our educator's discount for classroom use. Learn more about our available volumes here.

The Publications
Each artist/author selected for inclusion in the INPHA will receive one complimentary copy of the publication. The books produced for Manifest's other ongoing Annuals have increased in page count and print quality each year, with recent publications reaching 200 pages in length. In 2011 the INDA 5 was awarded a national silver medal award from the Independent Publishers Association in their New York City ceremony and the INPHA 1 followed it with a bronze in 2013. The INDA 8 took another bronze in 2015. And the INPHA 5 and MEAs10 took bronze and silver respectively in 2019. Most recently the INPHA 8 received a gold medal in 2022.

These awards were garnered through competing with books by such publishers as Yale University Press, Harvard University Press, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Whitney Museum of Art among many others. Manifest's books are distributed to bookstores across the country, including museum libraries, and are available through Amazon.com as well as at Manifest Gallery and on the Manifest website. Arts patrons, artists, professors, and art students around the world collect our publications, and our books are often used to supplement course work in college level classes.

Manifest's INPHA 8 is our most recent Gold Medal Winner
of the 2022 IPPY Book Awards (Photography category) by the Independent Publisher Association
