statement
The paintings explore my interest in understanding humans as animals. I use bats to portray this idea. The works on paper transcends my observations while I employ visual language inspired by impressionism. The style exhibits an ambiguous representation of bats. These bats are portraying the blurred line between human and animal. The abstracted shapes and gaseous clouds represent how the idea of a body and person fluctuate. By viewing the similarities of humans and animals there is an understanding of the functionality and beauty of the body.
