statement
Eddie Torres is a figurative artist from New York City. Known for his portrait drawings, Torres is a self-taught artist who also works in oil and digital art. His works are made to express the emotion from the eyes and visage of the human face, the sensuality of the human figure and the traditional to non-traditional fundamentals of the mediums he uses.
Torres' work has been included in The NY Realism Fine Art Show, Single Fare 3, Poets & Artists Magazine and the Barebrush.com calendar.
At the age of 6, Torres took a fascination with comic art and by the age of 28, pursued a career in fine art with a focus on the figure and portrait. His love for comic book art pushed him to further his skills into the realm of digital painting. Some of his work can be seen in Monarch Comics' Witch Hunter series and SWIIISH by Grumpy Old Bastard Komix in which he is also editor.
